Cheryl founded the musical theatre studies program at Chicago Dramatists, the center for new play development. Besides the courses she teaches (The Secret Life of the American Musical, Lyric Lab, Musicals in Process, the Musical Theatre Intensive, and Writing the 10 Minute Musical), Chicago Dramatists offers several musical theatre courses with other instructors, in addition to a wealth of playwriting and screenwriting courses.

Fees for script consultation and coaching are based on an hourly rate. Script consultations and coaching sessions can take place in person, or by telephone or video conference over Zoom.
